NOCTURNE

Opening Reception September 6, 5-9pm.

Our September exhibit features imagery of the dreamy worlds that come alive in the light of the moon - nocturnal creatures, sky- and landscapes, quiet moonlit moments, and even a bit of the strange and fantastical. The exhibit includes paintings, block prints, sculptures, drawings, mixed media, assemblage, collage, photography, jewelry, and more by 40+ artists!

Art lovers who cannot visit in person can view the exhibit via an on-line photo album COMING SOON

Purchases can also be made on-line (see details in virtual album via above link), and shipping is available on most pieces.

HIVE artspace Gallery Exhibits

HIVE artspace Gallery features monthly themed group exhibits which open on the First Friday of each month from 5-9pm, and they are free and open to the public. We hope you will come visit!

INTERESTED IN SUBMITTING YOUR ARTWORK?

Our calls for art are posted on our Facebook page once the submission period has begun. There is no fee to submit, submissions are limited to three/four per exhibit, but you are always welcome to include a link to more of your artwork. If your artwork is accepted for a given exhibit, there is a $5 hanging fee per artist (not per piece). Gallery commission on sales is 30%. All mediums and skill levels are welcome for submission. Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.

UPCOMING CALLS FOR ART AT HIVE ARTSPACE:​​​​​​​​​​​​

(Submission periods are 1-15th of the month prior to an exhibit)

  • January 2024 - York Artbook Collective exhibit - to be eligible for consideration, artists had to turn in their completed artbooks by October 15th (same for the 2025 showcase).

  • February 2024 - Hearts. Anatomical, broken, happy, dark, sacred, frozen, flaming... our Feb exhibit will feature all kinds of hearts!

  • March - Monochromatic. Pick a favorite color & work only in those hues.

  • April - Botanica. From flowers, plants, mushrooms to jungles, gardens, and forests.

  • May - Animals great and small - in conjunction with Animal Advocates of South Central PA.

  • June - Space Age Bachelor Pad. Cocktails, kitsch, and mid-century modern nostalgia.

  • July - Aviary III. All the birds, birds, birds.

  • August - Icons. Your favorites from music, film, pop culture, fashion, history, etc.

  • September - Nocturne. All things nocturnal, from the moon & stars, to nightscapes, to nocturnal creatures.

  • October - The Annual Spooky Art Show. Get your creep on for spooky season. Submission period: September 1-15. Call for Art info HERE.

  • November - Mini Art. Open subject & mediums, but must be no bigger than 6" in any direction.

  • December - HIVE's Holiday Bzzzaar - Our annual giftable art show, artwork under $100, ornaments, cards, and gift items.
